五山送り火を見てきました。
って、6日も前の話ですが。
お、遅っ！
と、お叱りを頂く前に、自分で言っておこっと。
m(＿ ＿；)m ｺﾞﾒﾝﾅｻｲ
実は、初めて見ました！
って、「大」の字だけじゃ無かったんですね。
実は、
大文字
妙法
舟形
左大文字
鳥居形
の五つがあるんです。なるほど、「五山」です。
よく聞く「大文字焼き」という名前から、「大」の字だけかと思ってました。
お恥ずかしい。

五山とは、
「大文字」の如意ヶ岳（左京区浄土寺）、
「妙法」の西山と東山（左京区松ヶ崎）、
「舟形」の船山（北区西賀茂）、
「左大文字」の左大文字山（北区大北山）、
「鳥居形」の曼陀羅山（右京区嵯峨鳥居本）
の五つです。
残念なことに、場所が少し離れているんです。
で、私は、「大文字」と「舟形」を見ることができました。
高いビルからだと全部見れるのかしら。
五山送り火の起源は、平安時代とも江戸時代とも言われるそうです。
こんな大きな行事なのに、起源が分からないなんて、不思議ですよね。
ちなみに、戦前は五山ではなく、
十山
だったそうです。

ちなみに、「大」の字の大きさですが、
一画が80m、二画が160m、三画が120mだそうです。
やっぱ、「大」の字、なだけに、このぐらい大きくないといけませんよね。
